Folkestone Park Bowls Club is the oldest club in Folkestone.
We are also the best (2003 & 2005 League champions,
2003 League Cup Winners,
2003 League Mens Singles winners, 2005 Harwood Trophy Winners, 2005 Shepway Mixed Pairs)
We have been resident at our location in Radnor Park since 1900. Although
the greens are council owned, since 1998 the Club has had a full time greenkeeper.
The Club makes a conscious effort to meet the needs of all members whether
their main interest lies in playing for fun or in achieving county and national
success. We are progressive and forward thinking, demonstrated by the fact
that we are the first club within Kent and probably England, to play in coloured
tops rather than the stuffy and old fashioned shirt and tie image that so
many clubs still cling to.
We field men's and ladies teams in a total of some 100 games through the year.
These range from league games, county games and friendlies.
The Club has a proven policy of equality for all members irrespective of gender
or age. This ensures equal access to the green at all times; equal votes at
the AGM and equal eligibility to stand for election to any post on the committee.
We provide tuition and am able to loan equipment.
We believe that the best way to learn is by playing and all our members can
assist you from day one.
